Despite its great lush landscape and the expansive sea before it, the Edge House by STARH doesn't exactly attempt to blend in. Rather, the ultra-modern domicile has been designed to literally stick out and assert its presence amidst its thriving Vama setting.
In this project, the use of curtain wall fenestration and concrete express inspiration from the international style of architecture and celebrate the aesthetic, structural and practical strengths of the building's materiality. A broad double-height wall of glass affords a brilliant view of the water before it while the cement-based frame of the building guards the interior from the elements.
It might have been tempting to construct a rectangular abode from such industrial components but STARH Stanislavov Architects opted for asymmetricality for visual intrigue. The Edge House features a particularly pointy roof line and a unique crimped side with tall and slender windows.
