Touch-Powered Technology

The Eco-Friendly Ecopad Tablet Harnesses Energy from Fingertips

As tablet technology becomes more and more prevalent thanks to its growing popularity in the market, products such as the Ecopad tablet will start to pop up. An eco-conscious alternative to the iPad and other similar devices out there right now, it actually doesn't use external power source to charge it. Instead, the Ecopad tablet harnesses the energy from every touch to power it.

Designed by Jun-se Kim, Yonggu Do and Eunha Seo, the Ecopad tablet is equipped with a nano piezoelectricity film that rest right below the display. It is this film that converts each touch or press into the energy needed to keep the tablet working. Although only a concept now, I'm excited to see more designs like the Ecopad tablet.
