The Pacific Boost an Eco Agenda Through Values & Production

New York City-based Loafs launches a Kickstarter for a pair of eco-friendly shoes, titled 'The Pacific.'

The name of the silhouette directly ties to the mission statement of the footwear — to contribute to a zero carbon future. For each pair sold, Loafs will donate proceeds toward the clean up of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and at the end of the year, the company will contribute to The Ocean Cleanup Project with the greater of 10% of profits or 1% of sales.

In terms of the aesthetic of the eco-friendly shoes, the design borrows stylistic sensibilities from traditional European dress shoes and performance runners. Perfect for every day, the footwear is lightweight, breathable, odor-resistant and sweat-absorbant. They feature a supportive insole that boosts comfort. In unison with the values it extends, the eco-friendly shoes are also made out of recycled materials, including algae-based foam and chrome-free recycled leather.
