Oatly is Using a New Eco Ice Cream Packaging for its Product

Sweden-based vegan food brand Oatly has announced a shift over to eco ice cream packaging thanks to a new partnership with Evergreen Packaging help to give the product a more sustainable profile.

The new packaging is made from the Evergreen Sentinel Full Renewable Ice Cream Board through packaging converting partner Stanpac Packaging, which is achieved using a paper-based packaging with a sugarcane-derived coating. The frozen dessert packaging is highly recyclable and achieved using renewable resources to further enhance its sustainable profile.

Oatly US General Manager Mike Messersmith spoke on the new eco ice cream packaging saying, "We were so glad to learn that Evergreen and Stanpac are committed to furthering their own sustainable offerings and that they came to Oatly as a partner to get those options into the world. As a company committed to developing new food options for sustainably-minded consumers, it’s great to have packaging partners equally committed to lowering their footprints."
