Lush's Eco-Friendly Lipstick Tube is Refillable & Recyclable

Lush Cosmetics has been a leader in waste-reducing packaging systems for years and it continues to offer package-free versions of beauty and body care products like eco-friendly lipstick. Aptar Reboul recently created a zero-plastic lipstick tube for the brand that's made from aluminum and brass and about 40% recycled material. Additionally, the lipstick tube design is refillable and recyclable, furthering its appeal to sustainably minded consumers. When it comes to replenishing the product, the tube's black tab can be removed from the base to slide in a fresh tube of the colored cosmetic.

It is estimated that 800 to 900 million lipstick tubes are sold worldwide annually, most of which are made from plastic or plastic-derived materials, which makes them incredibly difficult to recycle.
