Monks Build Heineken Temple

In a spectacular display of extreme recycling, Buddhist monks from the the Sisaket province in Thailand have built a temple made from one million recycled beer bottles.

The eco-friendly temple, called the Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew, features a beautiful combination of green Heineken beer bottles and brown Chang beer bottles.

I’m wondering if the design was inspired by the childhood countdown song that starts, "39 bottles of beer on the wall, 39 bottles of beer, if one of those bottles should happen to fall..."

Now try getting that song out of your mind!
