Mercedes-Benz Debuted the eActros LongHaul Prototype Truck

Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled the prototype of the 'eActros LongHaul' electric freight truck after announcing the project in 2020. The eActros lineup is set to include three electric trucks, each with a varying payload capacity and storage size. The LongHaul, which is the largest in the lineup, was showcased at the IAA Transportation 2022 presentation in Hanover on September 22nd.

The eActros LongHaul weighs 40 tons and travles approximately 310 miles on a single charge. This is delivered from three LFP battery packs that total over 600 kWh of energy. On top of this, Mercedes-Benz stated that its battery can be charged up to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes, meaning this will be one of the most cost-effective freight trucks when it hits the market.

The eActros LongHaul is entering a testing period with Amazon and Rhenus in early 2023.
