Perhaps in an attempt to drum up interest among teenagers and youth, the White House has joined the plethora of companies that have created dubstep commercials.
The official government-funded ad starts off like any other political ad, but soon the soundtrack jarringly shifts to a tonally odd dubstep soundtrack. I don't know about you, but when I hear dubstep, I think of screeching power tools and dial-up modems, not immigration statistic pie charts and congressional political discussions. Strangely enough, the dubstep commercial works despite the crazy context and odd juxtaposition of politics and bassy tunes.
I have to wonder if the ad would have featured the same soundtrack if George W. Bush was still president. Either way, it sure is weird seeing the White House of all places jumping on the dubstep commercial bandwagon.
