The Fabric Light Radiolaria is a series of floor lamps designed by creative II Hoon Roh that replicates the aesthetic of dripping liquid as if the process was slowed down to showcase the stretching. The action is replicated using stretched fabric that provides similar shapes and forms with a bulb placed at the top to create an avant-garde floor lamp for consumers to add to their decor.
Keeping a similar shape to a traditional floor lamp, the Fabric Light Radiolaria has an extremely thin body followed by a disc as the base and a disc acting as a lamp shade. Rather than using solid material such as plastic or metal, the Fabric Light Radiolaria is instead made with a single piece of fabric that is pulled by hand taught to create an expansive, three dimensional shape. The fabric is then held in place though a lamination process.
