'Turemetal,' a China-based manufacturer of fanless computer hardware and components, such as cases and power supplies, recently announced the beta preorder period for its 'DP2 Fanless Case.' This is a Mini-ITX form factor case with a horizontal layout. Due to its compact form factor and minimal cooling mechanisms, it does not support discrete graphics cards, but rather only mini-ITX motherboards with APUs.
In terms of its cooling capabilities, the DP2 uses two large radiators on its sides, and one smaller radiator at the front, to draw up to 65W of heat generation away from the CPU. This means it supports low-power chips such as Athlon or Celeron processors, as well as certain i3, i5, Ryzen 3, and Ryzen 5 processors. This case does not support PCIe expansion cards due to its compact size, though it does have space for additional 2.5" storage drives, if desired.
The DP2 is part of a recent trend of completely silent computational devices, as it generates absolutely no noise given its fanless design. The DP2 can be preordered on Taobao at an MSRP of roughly $295 USD.
