This series of superb sculptures by Minneapolis artist Doug Pedersen is comprised of cuddly creatures clothed in crayons. As a personal challenge, Doug Pedersen decided to create a collection of art using only items purchased at a dollar store. The ambitious artist finally settled on a myriad of plastic mammals and boxes of colorful crayons.
The resulting collection is creative, cute and oh-so colorful. Doug Pedersen decided to drip the furry figurines with melted crayons, clothing them in coats of color. He dripped many layers of wax over the animals, altering colors between layers. These vibrantly dressed dinos and rhinos look like they're prepared to waltz into watering holes and strut through the jungle.
