Delivery-Only Restaurant Blocks

DoorDash Kitchens Opened a 2,000-Square-Foot-Space in California

In order to tackle the large demand for delivery services, DoorDash has introduced DoorDash Kitchens, which caters specifically to take-out customers.

The company launched a 2,000-square-foot space in Silicone Valley, that hosts four different kitchens, that specifically focus on delivery-only services. The kitchens, which are being referred to as "virtual restaurants," will represent a new dining concept, in which delivery services can be expanded, without the existing restaurants having to reconfigure its employee labor or offerings. DoorDash kitchens could effectively serve as an 'overflow' restaurant, while the physical dining spot, focuses on the orders of sit-down customers.

The company hopes that its restaurant model can expand to other cities throughout the United States, with the potential of spreading to adjacent industries.
