Bug-Inspired Packaging

Doodlebug by Ivan Caro Uses Insects for Packaging Design

Ivan Caro has come up with a cute concept for an office supply kit titled Doodlebug that plays on the idea of insects.

Apart from the detailed illustrations of bugs on the front of the package, the box opens up like a butterfly. Inside, users can find various types of supplies such as tape, pencils and crayons that all have a certain bug attached to it through illustration. According to Package Inspiration, "the inspiration came from bugs and the environments they live in." Although this is not a common source of motivation for the branding of office supplies, it works well when done in this manner. From the way that the package opens to even the bugs chosen to match certain items, Caro does a great job in elevating this design to the next level.
