A DIY Disco Helmet Makes a Two-Wheeled Commute Super Groovy

San Francisco-based designer Natalina Walsh created a how-to guide to making a DIY disco helmet for those who want their melon protector to be as funky as possible.

If one has to wear a helmet, it's only fair to want to make the usually lame-looking accessory as cool and as sparkly as possible.

These sparkly creations are a party in and of themselves and can be constructed in seven easy steps. One of the more important steps to note is that Walsh recommends using acrylic mirrored tile rather than glass ones, for safety's sake. After all, there's not much sense in having a decked out, discotheque on one's head if it doesn't actually prevent brain injury.
