Handmade Ombre Stools

These Stools from Karlsson and Bjork Are Easy to Make

This example of dip-dyed furniture is a collaboration between Swedish designers Karlsson and Bjork and textile designers Sundin/Persson. The cute stools look like something you could easily adapt as a DIY project at home.

The simple stools feature dip-dyed legs and square patterned dip-dyed fabric on top in pale pastel shades like blue, purple and green. The 'Dip Dye' chairs were recently exhibited at the Wood Punk Exhibition at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2013. The designers dyed the fabric by tying it to the legs with string and allowing the dying imprint to form the patterns.

This range of dip-dyed furniture would look great as a splash of color in a modern apartment or home that doesn't have much space. The stool, whilst modern, also has a cozy homely feel.
