Salt and Pepper Shakers of 2015

Fragile

Dining in 2015 was a competition held by Design Boom and Macef, Milano. The theme was to design kitchenware, tableware and dining utensils the designers could envision people using in 2015.

The shortlist of the competition is now out and one of my favorite pieces was “Fragile”, designed by Mey Kahn and Boaz Kahn from Israel.

The ceramic salt and pepper shaker comes in one piece and by braking it you make it useful.

Implications - The act of breaking the salt and pepper shakers of 2015 gives it a unique and customized feel; no two sets will be exactly the same. Plus, it is fun to break stuff.
