In another giant leap forward in his effort towards modernizing and broadening the global appeal of the Catholic church, today Pope Benedict XVI launched a YouTube channel.
Setting the Church up alongside wannabe musicians and college pranksters on YouTube is a revolutionary step for the 2,000-year-old institution that has historically remained very set in its ways.
Benedict said on YouTube today that he hopes to connect with a "great family that knows no borders," and he invited viewers to "feel involved in this great dialogue of truth."
