Caffè Populaire is a digital detox pop-up that is launched through a collaboration between Montreal design agency Lambert & Fils and Milan-based DWA Design Studio. The event ran for six days during Milan design week.
The space is meticulously curated with an industrial backdrop and sculpture-evoking, contemporary furnishings. The vibe of the bistro is meant to evoke a digital-free environment and celebrate "raw but refined materials." A bent, U-shape table is a centerpiece to Lambert & Fils and DWA Design Studio's digital detox pop-up. The shape and aesthetic value of the piece effortlessly motivate conversation and physical interaction. It is through these subtle inserts that Caffè Populaire fosters an environment where people can openly interact with one another, without the intervention of screens.
