These Detailed Designs are Made Out of Fruit and Vegetables

These artful spoons were created by Romanian architect Ioana Vanc, featuring detailed design using food as an alternative to paint, crayons or pencils. The designs feature many animal scenes like penguins cuddling, zebras grazing and toucans talking. Some also exhibit character portraits of Batman, Kermit the Frog and even fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Creating Savannah trees out of cucumber peels and glowing skies from slices of cheese, Vanc turns everyday food ingredients into complex art materials. Meanwhile, utensils are utilized as backgrounds for her unique works of art, the spoons turned either "portrait" or "landscape" depending on the design.

Experimentation with food as a medium has been seen by many artists lately, both to outline their own creativity as well as show that anyone can create art with anything.
