Last week, TrendHunter brought you self-contained rooms designed and built in the middle of the desert, but what if it was possible to build a lodge literally inside the desert?
Courtesy of the Florida-based design firm Oppenheim Architecture and Design, this high-concept design set in Wadi Rum, Jordan, takes desert architecture to a whole new level. The precisely-shaped windows cut directly into the landscape's rock-face allows for natural light and splendid vistas, although leaving little in the way of privacy).
In addition to the rooms themselves, this desert lodge includes a spa, outdoor and indoor pools, as well as several tents spread throughout the facility, allowing for a perfect blend of modern architecture and the natural environment.Photo Credits: designboom, oppenoffice
