This Deodorant Caters to People With Physical Disabilities

Degree, the popular deodorant that is also sold under the brand names of Rexona, Shield and Sure in many parts of the world, has launched an innovative new deodorant design that aims to make it a little easier for people with disabilities to go about using their products.

The 'Degree Inclusive' line of deodorants was designed following considerable inputs from people with diverse disabilities, with the end result being a product that can be used with only one hand, can be opened and closed by people with limited grip, and can offer instructions via braille in order to cater to people with limited sight.

Developed in the wake of a collaboration with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, non-profit organizations, engineers, occupational therapists and designers, these deodorant designs were most importantly influenced by the inputs of 200 consumers with physical disabilities who were invited to try and provide feedback on prototype products.

In the words of Degree's vice-president Kathryn Swallow, the launch of this deodorant design is natural given Degree's belief that "no one should be held back from breaking a sweat and enjoying the transformative benefits of movement."
