'Animal Crossing' Players Can Now Display Democratic Voting Signs

To increase its reach and encourage political action from a younger demographic of voters, the Biden-Harris campaign has collaborated with 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' to enable players to display democratic voting signs in their digital worlds.

To show their support for the Biden-Harris campaign, players can download four signs by scanning QR codes via the Nintendo Switch Online app. The signs feature different variations of the official campaign logo, including a logo that features the presidential nominees' name in rainbow lettering, and another that features a trio of red, white, and blue aviator sunglasses.

As COVID-19 has prevented the US' democratic party from holding in-person gatherings and events to raise support for its campaign this year, the Animal Crossing initiative shows how audiences can be mobilized through digital platforms of all kinds.
