As a tribute to one of the sexiest photographs found in popular culture, Daniel DiCrisio replicates the Burt Reynolds Cosmo spread. The original photo taken for Cosmopolitan Magazine's April 1972 Centerfold features Reynolds in a scandalous pose with an enticing come-hither stare. Reynolds is seen looking relaxed and laying naked across a golden brown bearskin rug and through this photograph, allowed men in the 70s to be seen and embraced as sex symbols.
As an ode to this 70s sex symbol and to mark the 40th anniversary of this notorious centerfold, Daniel DiCrisio 'Bruno' made the choice to reenact it. With the help of photographer Dusti Cunningham, DiCrisio paid homage to the sexy stud with this scandalous spread.
DiCrisio, a notable celebrity hairstylist, recording artist and television personality, embraced his nudity for this shoot, donning only his smile and of course, the bearskin rug. The recreation is almost identical to the original, in hopes of preserving Reynolds's original photograph. The original is considered one of the cultural object d'arts of the sexual revolution.
