Before stumbling upon the Customizing Culture collection, I had just been talking about how stunning Persian rugs were--so beautiful, in fact, that I was wishing I could drape them across my body as the latest fashion fad. Yet now I won't have to, and I'm more than a little grateful to designer Maryam Avalin for that.
Inspired by her Persian heritage, the Customizing Culture collection is Maryam Avalin's very first fashion endeavor. Debuted at the Beckmans School of Design's final year showcase, the rich, elegant designs were surely a hit.
