The Custom Air Force 1s by Studio Hegel Channel Takashi Murakami

An Amsterdam-based footwear design and consultancy studio released a pair of custom Air Force 1s that celebrate the work of renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. The top of the Nike silhouette embraces the iconic style of the creative with multi-colored flowers, while the bottom half of the shoe offers a strong contrast with crisp white.

Studio Hegel further embellishes its custom Air Force 1s with a neon yellow zig-zag stitching that runs across the body of the shoe. The bespoke sneaker is completed with OFF-WHITE-branded shoelaces.

As the custom Air Force 1s pay tribute to the Japanese artist's popular body of work, this is yet another display of how sneaker culture embraces a multi-disciplinary approach to design and has a strong affinity to art.
