Russian architects Arch-Group and French designers Sade Sarl have teamed up to build a new Cultural and Spiritual Russian Orthodox Center right next to the Eiffel Tower. The Arch-Group and Sade Sarl's design was the winning entry in a contest, which was seeking a new church design that would make the Russian Orthodoxy more accessible to modern Europeans.
The Cultural and Spiritual Russian Orthodox Center mixes modern technology and design with old-school Russian architecture to create a church and unlike any other. The church will have nine golden domes while the church's public gardens will be covered by a glass canopy. One wall of the garden will be made entirely out of multimedia screens to show religious scenes and church announcements.
