Modern Cuckoo Clocks

Designer Pedro Mealha Put a Twist on the Classic Cuckoo Clock

In a twist on the classic old-fashioned cuckoo clock, industrial designer Pedro Mealha creates modern versions in a variety of styles.

The designer is based in London and his endearing clock designs all vary. His B83 model clock has a pendulum encased in a light wood and glass box with a small red bird that comes out of the upper right-hand corner. Other clocks he has designed are slightly more minimal, with a dark wooden clock that takes the shape of a square and ejects a small white bird. Most of the designer's clocks do not come numbered and they also have light sensors so that they won't pop out at night.

These cuckoo clocks are the perfect example of old-fashioned styles being revitalized for the modern age.
