Graffiti artists JR and Jose Parla collaborated on an extensive street art project that commemorates Cuban Revolution survivors in the city of Havana in Cuba.
Entitled 'The Wrinkles of the City,' the project features massive portraits of the now elderly citizens so as to immortalize their valor and courage in a time of immense struggle and fear. Parla created the portraits in black and white while JR added color and intricacy with his calligraphic styled lines and patterns that encompass the portraits. When people walk past the artwork they will be reminded of the strength of the individuality and will be instilled with a sense of pride for their country.
This Cuban Revolution survivor artwork will be showcased at Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in New York.
