It all started when Ellen DeGeneres adopted a pup from the Iggy from Mutts and Moms animal shelter in Pasadena, Calif. After a while, it became clear that Iggy was not going to get along with Ellen's cats, so Ellen gave the pup to her hairdresser's 11- and 12-year-old daughters. The shelter took the puppy away from the girls citing the agreement that Ellen has signed agreeing to return the pup to the shelter if she could not care for it. This triggered Ellen's tearful appeal on her show to the shelter for Iggy's return to the family and of course a team of lawyers working behind the scenes.
