Heston Blumenthal's Reindeer Milk Ice Cream and Sugar Baubles

I haven't always thought the best of Heston Blumenthal, but his 'In Search of Perfection' Christmas show and book has totally changed my mind.

In the past, Blumenthal has used MRI scanners to create the 'perfect' chicken tikka masala and baked Alaska. Each Christmas, he cooks dinner for six celebrities, and what he cooks for dinner is always far from predictable.

In 2007, the unusual holiday menu included reindeer milk ice cream, mulled wine that is both hot and cold in the same glass, sugar baubles with salmon mousse, and stock cubes served in gold, frankincense and myrrh. The 2008 menu is set to be equally decadent and innovative.

Now that is an unquestionably awesome menu to enjoy from the hands of a ridiculously talented chef. I was naturally pleased to realize I was not alone in my views:
