Carbon Fiber Campers

The Luxurious CR1-Carbon Camper is Stronger and Lighter Than Regular RVs

The CR-1 Carbon is a huge, glossy bus trailer that manufacturer Global Caravan Technologies claims is, "the world's first all-carbon fiber RV."

The CR-1 Carbon camper is constructed with carbon fiber materials, utilizing expertise from aerospace technicians and IndyCar manufacturer Dallara. The vehicle uses a bonded 'monocoque' structure that doesn't require screws or fasteners. This makes it stronger, more durable and more moisture-resistant than regular campers.

Carbon fiber has long been prized by the motor sport, automotive and aerospace industries for its unique combination of high-strength and lightweight. This makes it a natural fit for a large, mobile shelters that need to be towed over great distances by a truck or SUV.

The manufacturers of the CR1-Carbon haven't revealed when the product will be made available, although it did say that the North American, European, Australian and Chinese markets would be targeted.
