The 'Cool Infographic' Explains Why Visuals are so Important

This graph from the 'Cool Infographics' site explains the importance of incorporating colors into a companies branding. This information was collected and created by Column Five and Marketo.

The study finds that a product's color actually influences a purchase decision by 60 to 80 percent. After analyzing the worlds top 100 brands, it was determined that blue is used the most in company logos, followed by red, grey and lastly yellow. Of these brands 95 percent of them don't incorporate more than two colors in their branding, while only 5 percent use more.

The chart goes into further detail as to the effect that each color exudes, and what industries are best suited for each. Also, the colors are divide up by "hot" and "cold," so for example Purple is consider "cold" and is associated with nostalgia, mystery and spirituality. It is ideal for industries such as technology, finance and health care, but would not be suitable for the energy and agriculture fields.

This infographic stressed the importance of properly selecting a brand color, which could essentially make or break a brand.
