Converted Firetruck Homes

This Home on Wheels Was Made from a 1953 GMC firetruck

Most mobile homes are made with the intention of, as their name suggest, being mobile, however professional snowboarder Austin Smith created his converted firetruck home on wheels for the exact opposite purpose. Smith wanted a space where he could stay sedentary in the parking lot by Mount Bachelor in Oregon -- ensuring he can wake up with as close proximity to the slopes as possible.

His home is unique in the sense that it was fashioned from an old 1953 GMC firetruck, and comes complete with a surprisingly large living space and a kitchen. The interior of this firetruck home is heated by a wood burning stove. With rising cost of living, compact and mobile homes are becoming more prevalent and popular among North America as a cost-effective solution that allows people with lower income to become home owners.
