Outlandish Food Portraits

Urs Fischer’s Contemporary Photography Series Will Crack You Up

Urs Fischer is known for his odd and contemporary photography, in which he usually covers his subjects’ faces with halved food. In this series, he once again participates in obstructing the face, but this time with hard boiled eggs.

The faces are all of what look like to be women due to their styled, long hair and femininely shaped shirts. Some of the women’s faces are covered up with a fully shelled egg and others have the inside half of the egg displayed over top of them.

Fischer even mashed the yolk of some of the eggs to make for a messier display. The most bizarre of them all is the photo of a rotten egg covering a red-headed women; the yolk is swirled with a rotten-colored green and the whites have turned into an orangey tinge with black speckles.
