Strap-On Choppers

Personal Libelula Rocket Helicopter

The Libelula Rocket Helicopter is a type of a strap-on chopper that was conceived by Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana. The concept contraction uses tiny rocket motors at the tips of the rotor blades which are powered by two hydrogen fuel canisters, thereby negating the need for a tail rotor.

It's a very revolutionary concept, but I would personally feel kind of uncomfortable hanging in mid-air with a backpack on my back and nothing to crash on but mother earth.

Implications - The incredible pack is propelled by two full hydrogen fuel canisters. Now, due to the technological complexities of this project, there is a good chance it will take years to get made, if ever.

But it's fun to imagine, isn't it?
