Mexican studio AE Arquitecto developed a stylish and eye-catching community ranch in Jalisco. The structure boasts a contrasting dual-colored design with gray walls and black roofs. According to Dezeen, the resulting neutral palette serves as a direct juxtaposition with the mountainous landscape.
For the community ranch, AE Arquitecto cut and molded volcanic rock. If anything, the architectural firm enjoyed experimenting with materials that complement each other in light of their fundamental differences. The studio crafted the identity of the community ranch by way of material selection with an emphasis on inherent unfamiliarity. While the gabled roof is clad with rectangular tiles, the doors are crafted from pinewood — "an abundant [resource] in Jalisco."
