Designer Stephanie Monty has created a colostomy bag that aims to make its wearer feel a little bit more comfortable in their own body.
The bags are often needed by people with diseases such as Crohn's and bowel cancer -- and are used to divert waste away from the persons bowels and into the bag. Unfortunately, people who need to use colostomy bags are often stigmatized and feel a shame associated with them, a fact that the designer aims to change. Her bags are either tattoo- or lingerie-inspired and have floral patterns on a thinner, less obtrusive design. The compact bags have a skin-like feel, can be made to match the color of the user's skin and are anti-bacterial to prevent infections.
The bags were designed specifically so that people who require them feel more confident during intimate moments with partners.
