Using colorful masking tape, Koji Iyama created a masking tape installation. Rolls of unrolled tape were suspended from the ceiling of a warehouse to produce a veritable forest of masking tape. The installation was created to promote the Japanese 'mt masking tape.'
Each roll of tape was hung at a different length and spaced closely to other rolls. Beneath the suspended masking tape, the floor of the warehouse was transformed into a rainbow-patterned surface. Rolls of colored tape were applied to the warehouse's floor to complement the tape above. If that isn't enough, the walls were lined with masking tape as well.
The installation also served as an excellent marketing tool as tables filled with rolls of tape were laid out beneath a section of the forest. Visitors could browse tape while being surrounded by numerous rolls of it.
