Event-Attending Robotic Avatars

This Robot Lets Teens Virtually Go to Coca-Cola Summer Love 2013

Attending the annual Coca-Cola Summer Love festival is a highlight for many Israeli teenagers. Unfortunately, not all teens are able to physically attend the event in person.

To help as many people attend the event as possible, Coca-Cola came up with the 'Social Robot,' which served as an avatar for teens to visit the festival through. The robots were equipped with web cams, microphones and the ability to be wheeled around like a remote control car. Above the eyes of the robot, festival users could see the person controlling the robot through a video image.

The Social Robot was a hit with the kids, allowing them to hang out and communicate with their friends, even if they couldn't physically attend the Coca-Cola Summer Love 2013 festival.
