The Wizard of Oz dominates TV

The classic children's novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow was first published in 1900. Since then, the story has crossed over into several media formats including broadway musicals, board and video games, comics, merchandise, feature length films, and television. Just this year, there are three networks adapting the story into a series. The Syfy network is currently developing a miniseries titled Warriors Of Oz in which the story gets re-imagined, NBC is producing Emerald City, and CBS has begun development of Dorothy, a Grey's Anatomy type show inspired by the original characters found in The Wizard of Oz. It is clear that the yellow brick road truly has no end.

Implications - No matter how much society evolves, a great story never goes out of style, the wizard of oz is living proof.
