Citywide WiFi Campaigns

Google Fiber Will Offer Free Urban Internet Access Via Local Antennas

In an attempt to offer consumers WiFi access wherever and whenever, Google Fiber is experimenting with citywide WiFi campaigns in metropolises such as Kansas City that will offer free Internet access in public spaces. This will allow consumers to connect to a network to upload on social media, send emails and communicate virtually -- without having to tap into their cellphone data.

Google Fiber offers one of the fastest Internet speeds, making the service a top contender to provide localized WiFi. The idea is that consumers can step into a specific metropolis area and receive free coverage with access to an unlocked network in a public and outdoor space.

Currently Google Fiber is testing out its citywide data in Kansas, but hopes to expand to other North American urban locations.
