Used Clothes Art Exhibits

'No Mans Land' by Christian Boltanski is About Life, Death, & Laundry

I am going to try and wrap my non-artistic noodle around 'No Mans Land' by Christian Boltanski. Christian Boltanski's gigantic art installation in New York City's Park Avenue Armory is filled with 45 piles of used clothes and one crane. Try and stay with me here.

Every few minutes, the crane will drop down and pick up some clothes from a random pile and drop them into a large pile in the center. 'No Mans Land' by Christian Boltanski is his idea of the futility of life and the randomness of death. I can't even do laundry, but I can still appreciate this piece of mega-scale abstract art.
