Gravity-Defying Paintings

The Chloe Early: Suspended Series Explores Themes of Weightlessness

'Chloe Early: Suspended' is an incredibly beautiful series of paintings that explores themes of weightlessness and gravity. The Outsiders London announced its debut solo exhibition with the London-based artist and the series features works that reference the romance of Renaissance religious art.

The accompanied short film by Andrew Telling brings life to the emotions evoked from the paintings. Chloe Early: Suspended reflects a sense of wonder and transience. The figures in her paintings seem to be suspended in their rises and falls. "I decided that in these works I want to transcend all the background noise and elevate my figures out of the mundane and into a more celestial space, suspending them there for the viewer and for myself."

The series is very thematic and romantic in the poses of her figures, the shades of pink and red and their black and white contrasts.
