China Fashion to Hype Beijing Olympics

China International Fashion Week

China International Fashion Week looked like one big publicity preview for all the glitz that will surround the Beijing Olympics next month.

Nearly 40 fashion shows took place from 30 different brands. Over 500 models were used to march Olympic-themed clothing down the runway in April. One bright red (a colour considered lucky by the Chinese) Olympic-themed gown had the Beijing Olympic logo on it and read "success for the Beijing Olympics" in Chinese characters.

As the days get closer to the much-anticipated sporting event, China is doing a lot to secure promotional perfection. The fashion show was just one such method.
