Self-Chilling Drink Cans

The Joseph Co.'s Chill-Can Twists to Provide Instant Cooling

The Chil-Can is a new innovation from The Joseph Co. that takes the form of a two-piece system that includes liquefied carbon dioxide as an active coolant and a twistable design to activate the package's self-cooling feature.

When a portion of the can is twisted, a slight hissing sound can be heard, which indicates that the refrigerant is getting to work. In about 90 seconds, the cooling process will be complete and the refreshingly cool contents of the can may be enjoyed at a temperature that's been reduced by about 30 degrees.

As The Joseph Co. describes, "The globalization of smartphones and high-speed Internet have created societies that have become accustomed to having what they want, on demand. It has not only changed how people consume, but where they can consume." The Chill-Can has the potential to offer convenience to consumers in a variety of locations, particularly those that lack refrigeration solutions.
