Sticky Chewed Candy Sculptures

Dutch College Students Create a Chewing Gum Statue

To celebrate the merger of two Dutch colleges by the names of Eindhovense and SintLucas, 3000 students got together to create a Chewing Gum Statue. Considering that they are both arts-based colleges, it’s no wonder that they would mix their creative juices together to create an artistically symbolic piece.

The thought of chewing gum and then spitting it out, is often seen as an ill-mannered thing to do. As long as it doesn’t end up on the bottom of someone’s shoe, no harm done. Sometimes rules are allowed to be broken, especially if it’s for an amazing art project such as this one.

The triumphant sculpture will be displayed at the Strijp S festival in the Netherlands this winter. The Chewing Gum statue is an unusual piece that might make some people squirm, but nonetheless, is quite intriguing.
