All-Electric Production Cars

The Chevy Volt Comes to Life

The folks at GM have rolled out a production vehicle of the Chevy Volt.  It’s a gutsy move for GM, considering that the Chevy Volt won’t be mass-produced for two years.

GM is putting a good portion of their reputation on the line to deliver the Chevy Volt all-electric car exactly as promised. As many as six plug-in hybrid electric vehicles from GM, Toyota, Nissan, and possibly Chrysler are expected to be available for consumer purchase by early 2011. The Chevy Volt is the first car from these manufacturers to have a publicly announced production date, however.

If GM doesn’t roll out the Chevy Volt as promised, the company’s financial future is in serious doubt.
