Café Balāo Turns Coffee Making into a Chemisrty Experim

Portuguese design student Davide Mateus has created The Café Bal?o coffee machine inspired by an apparatus that looks like it got smuggled out of a chemistry lab experiment! The apparatus is made from two exquisitely blown glass carafes with an inbuilt electrical heater at the bottom. The fact that everything is transparent allows users to admire the coffee brewing process, and even better, it just takes a third of the time than a normal coffee machine! The way it works is simple -- simply put ground coffee beans at the top and fill up the bottom glass with water.

"The Café Bal?o’s laboratory bowl setup results in a sweet, delicious cup of coffee every time, thanks to the glass construction and precise control over the length of the brew," says Mateus of the apparatus.
