Simone Gerbino Designs the Chapeau Lamp Inspired by Headwear

Designer Simon Gerbino designs the unique Chapeau lamp, and it was shortlisted for TalentLab, a medium for up and coming designers. The Chapeau lamp is made up of two elements -- the lamp's support is crafted from oak, and the lamp shade is constructed from a powder-coated steel material, which is also attached to the power cable. Normally, the cable is not directly attached to the shade, but it is in the case of the Chapeau lamp.

Gerbino's lamp is designed specifically to be flexible -- the top of the support is spherical so that it can tilt and rotate around, allowing for adjustment of light direction. Gerbino expresses the importance of flexibility as people move around much more than before.
