Counterfeit Chanel Art

We know that Louis Vuitton really hates it when people use their logo without express permission, but it turns out that Chanel is not too pleased either and they are hot on Louis Vuitton’s tail as the most counterfeited logo in the world.

The collection of Chanel logos is a lot less cheap-looking than the Louis Vuitton collection--as well as a bit more artsy. If you think about it, that sums up the brands perfectly, in fact, and links back to the foundations of each brand. Embracing this idea, Chanel elected 20+ contemporary artists to create inspired pieces from Chanel’s signature quilted bag.

From crochet to street art, cocaine sculptures by Comenius Roethlisberger and tattoos, they all seem to have been covered at some point by Chanel lovers or haters; the gravestone, however, remains my favorite--or maybe the puppies, since they look so fed up.
